MANZANO RUNNING BACK HONORED FOR GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP

Manzano High School running back Xavier Ivey Saud received a $500 scholarship from the Albuquerque Football Officials Association.  The group hands out an annual scholarship to an individual or individuals who demonstrate acts of sportsmanship

“It means a lot that the refs recognized that I try my best to be a leader out there and show sportsmanship,” said the senior.

“We want to remind folks that sometimes it’s good to focus on the good behavior on the field versus the bad behavior on the field,” said official Steven Wagner.
