VOLLEYBALL COMMUNITY RALLIES FOR LOCAL FAMILY
The Albuquerque volleyball community got together Thursday night at the ARVC facility to support a local family who suffered a tragedy this week.
11-year old Rylee passed away from an acute asthma attack. Â Rylee was the daughter of club volleyball coach Geoff Lawson and his wife, former UNM assistant Lisa Beauchane. Â Several local high school teams showed up in support to play volleyball and celebrate the life of the child.
“I think it’s a huge thing to show that there’s lots of things in this world bigger than volleyball,” said St. Pius X High School coach Jordan Russell.
“You have to live every day like it’s your last and kiss your kids and tell em you love em,” added Russell. Â “And teach em the right things and give em the life they deserve and I think Geoff and Lisa did that and Rylee was so special to be a part of this life with them.”
