VOLLEYBALL COMMUNITY RALLIES FOR LOCAL FAMILY

 In General News, Press Releases

The Albuquerque volleyball community got together Thursday night at the ARVC facility to support a local family who suffered a tragedy this week.

11-year old Rylee passed away from an acute asthma attack.  Rylee was the daughter of club volleyball coach Geoff Lawson and his wife, former UNM assistant Lisa Beauchane.  Several local high school teams showed up in support to play volleyball and celebrate the life of the child.

“I think it’s a huge thing to show that there’s lots of things in this world bigger than volleyball,” said St. Pius X High School coach Jordan Russell.

“You have to live every day like it’s your last and kiss your kids and tell em you love em,” added Russell.  “And teach em the right things and give em the life they deserve and I think Geoff and Lisa did that and Rylee was so special to be a part of this life with them.”
