 In General News, Press Releases

Congratulations to Evani Velazquez of Bloomfield High School on being selected as the Section 6 Female Student-Athlete of the Year!

Section 6 of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) represents a highly competitive region that includes Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, and Arkansas. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding senior student-athletes who excel not only in athletics, but also in academics, leadership, and character.

Evani’s achievement places her among the top student-athletes in the region, as only one male and one female are selected from each of the eight sections across the United States. She will now advance to the national level, where Section winners are considered for the overall national honor.

“This is an incredible accomplishment for Evani, and a well-deserved recognition,” said Bloomfield Schools Athletic Director Ben Tensay.
