NMAA ANNOUNCES 2022 STATE GOLF PARTNERSHIP

The New Mexico Activities Association, in conjunction with Santa Ana Golf Club, Inc., is pleased to announce the 2022 State Golf Championships will be held at the Santa Ana Golf Club and Twin Warriors Golf Club located on the Santa Ana Pueblo.

“Both courses will offer high school student-athletes a unique experience of championship golf,” said NMAA Executive Director Sally Marquez.

The 2022 NB3 State Golf Championships presented by Realty One of New Mexico hosted by Santa Ana Golf Club and Twin Warriors Golf Club on the Santa Ana Pueblo will be held May 9-10.  Twin Warriors Golf Club will play host to the Class 5A Championships, Santa Ana Golf Club will host the Class 4A Championships, and The Canyon Club will host the Class A-3A Championships.

“We are so excited to have the top high school golfers in New Mexico play these two scenic and challenging layouts on the Santa Ana Pueblo,” said Derek Gutierrez, PGA General Manager/Director of Golf at Santa Ana Golf Club. “Santa Ana Golf Club and Twin Warriors will provide a tremendous setting and fair test for these talented players.”

The Santa Ana Golf Club and Twin Warriors Golf Club are critically acclaimed layouts located within a mile of each other on the Santa Ana Pueblo.

Twin Warriors Golf Club was designed by Gary Panks and opened in 2001.  The high desert course is routed around 20 ancient cultural sites.  Santa Ana Golf Club was designed by Ken Killian and former PGA Tour player Ken Green.  The course, which opened in 1991, is a combination of challenge, beauty, and playability.

Both courses have received national recognition from publications such as Golf Digest, Golf Week, and Golf Magazine since their openings.  Twin Warriors Golf Club has been voted “Best of the City (from 2011 to present) by the readers of Albuquerque The Magazine.  The New York Times calls Santa Ana Golf Club “one of America’s three best true links-style golf courses.”

The top individual male golfer and top individual female golfer from the state championships will each earn an invitation to the field of the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship.
