NMAA RECOGNIZES 2020-2021 SUBWAY DIRECTOR’S CUP WINNERS

Melrose, Rehoboth Christian, St. Michael’s, Albuquerque Academy, and Rio Rancho were all honored on Monday for claiming the Subway Director’s Cup for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Subway Director’s Cup is awarded annually to the top New Mexico Activities Association member schools in each classification based upon success in activities, athletics, and sportsmanship.

Melrose High School took home the Class 1A cup while claiming one blue trophy in volleyball.

In class 2A, Rehoboth Christian High School earned the cup through its state championships in boys’ basketball and girls’ track & field.

St. Michael’s High School claimed the Class 3A cup while winning state championships in girls’ soccer, dance, boys’ track & field, and girls’ track & field.

In Class 4A, Albuquerque Academy took home the cup winning state championships in chess, boys’ soccer, volleyball, girls’ swimming & diving, baseball, boys’ golf, girls’ golf, boys’ tennis, and girls’ tennis.

Rio Rancho High School claimed the Class 5A cup while winning state championships in girls’ cross country, boys’ soccer, bowling, and powerlifting.
