FALL RULES CLINICS ONLINE
Fall rules clinics are to be attended by head coaches of all fall sports by August 31st.  This is mandatory for all head coaches during their sports season.  Please note, if your head coach attended a rules clinic at the NMHSCA Coaches Clinic they do not need to take the online version. Online versions are available on each sports landing page.

MANDATORY AD’S MEETING
If you did not attend the AD’s meeting in person at the NMHSCA Coaches Clinic you are required to go through the online rules clinic. This will be available on August 1, 2018, by clicking here. This presentation is also available for anyone who would simply like to review it.

MEMBER SCHOOL’S “OFFICIAL VOTER” DESIGNATION
NMAA Bylaw 3.12.1 states “The administrative head of each member school, with local Board of Education approval, appoints the “Official Voter” for the school. The “Official Voter” is the school’s voting representative for all matters pertaining to the business of the NMAA when the referendum is required.” NMAA Bylaw 3.9.2 requires that the “Official Voter”, and other staff information, is posted on MaxPreps on or before September 17. If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Director, Tyler Dunkel at tyler@nmact.org.

REGIONAL MEETINGS
NMAA Executive Director Sally Marquez will attend the Fall Regional Meetings around the state in conjunction with Cooperative Educational Services. The NMAA encourages all Athletic Directors to attend a session in their area.  This will be an opportunity for Athletic Directors to have an open forum type session with the NMAA Executive Director on issues and topics of interest to them. Meetings are scheduled as follows:

ATHLETIC TRAINER ALL ACCESS PASS
All athletic trainers need an NMAA All Access pass to gain complimentary entrance into NMAA sanctioned events, including state championships.  Please have your athletic trainer fill out the application and submit it to the NMAA by September 14, 2018 in order to receive a pass for the year.  The application form is available here.

MEMBERSHIP DUES, FEES AND CONTRACTS
Membership dues/fees and contracts have been mailed to all schools.  Please be sure to submit these to the NMAA by September 17, 2018.  If you have not received either of these or have any questions regarding membership contracts, please contact Alissa Wesbrook at 505-923-3266 or alissa@nmact.org.  For questions regarding membership dues and fees please contact Shari Kessler-Schwaner at 505-923-3279 or shari@nmact.org.

COMPETE WITH CLASS NOMINATIONS
In an effort to establish and sustain the Compete with Class initiative, the NMAA will be highlighting acts of sportsmanship through various awards and recognition programs during the 2018-2019 school year.  In order to do this, our office NEEDS YOUR HELP!  Acts of sportsmanship by individuals, coaches, officials, administrators, spectators, or teams as a whole should be reported to the NMAA office as they occur.  Photos of these acts would also be appreciated.  Send your nominations to J.P. Murrieta at jp@nmact.org.

TWITTER ACCOUNTS & FEATURE ARTICLES
Coaches and athletic directors, we are encouraging all of you to help us spread the positive news about high school athletics.  If you have a Twitter account, please email us with your Twitter handle so we can follow you.  If your school or athletic program doesn’t have a twitter account, I highly recommend signing up for one.  It’s free and real easy to use and it’s become a simple way for keeping in touch with others involved in your program and getting your message out.  You can let us know your social media information by sending us an email to jp@nmact.org
