HATCH AND AMARO NAMED TOPS IN NEW MEXICO

A pair of New Mexico high school football standouts were named tops in their sport.  Cleveland High School quarterback Jordan Hatch was named the Gatorade New Mexico Football Player of the Year and Las Cruces High School running back Danny Amaro was named the 2025 MaxPreps New Mexico High School Football Player of the Year.

Hatch led the Storm to a 12-1 record and second straight Class 6A state championship.  Hatch threw for 2,888 yards and 40 touchdowns.  He also rushed for four scores this past season and caught a touchdown pass in the state final.

Amaro led the Bulldawgs to a 12-1 record and state runner-up finish.  The senior ran for 1,931 yards and 42 touchdowns.  He also caught three scores this season.
