SEEDING & SELECTION SHOW UPDATE
Due to the extreme weather and resulting state of emergency that was declared in northwest New Mexico over the last 48 hours, numerous athletic and activity events in that area had to be postponed/rescheduled. This has had a significant impact on the sports of soccer and football due to the timing near the end of those seasons, and because of that, bracket releases for the State Soccer and 2A-6A Football Championships will both take place one day later than originally scheduled.
The State Soccer Championship brackets will be released at approximately 1030pm on Monday, October 26th. In order to get this information out to our schools and the general public as early that evening as possible, there will not be a seeding/selection show and the brackets will be sent out via e-mail, through the NMAA’s social media accounts, and via the NMAA website. The 1st Round for State Soccer has also been pushed back one day for both the boys and girls divisions, but the quarterfinals will remain as originally scheduled.
For the State Football Championships, there are now multiple games being played on Saturday afternoon/evening (Oct 31), so the seeding/selection show and bracket release for 2A-6A Football will take place at approximately 11am on Sunday, November 1st.
