STATE CHIOR & CONCERT BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2026 State Choir and State Concert Band Championships took place this past week at Cleveland High School. Results for the event can be found on each activities landing page on the NMAA website. Congratulations to all the performers and the winning teams for this year’s events.
STATE ACTIVITIES EVENTS IN APRIL
April 2026 is a busy month in the Activities world. A total of six NMAA activities will host their State Championship or State Conference in April. Those include: HOSA, Science Fair, Choir, Concert Band, Esports and JROTC. Good Luck to all the competitors this month. For more information about one of these activities visit nmact.org.
AIR QUALITY REMINDER
As the windy season begins, air quality can be a concern. The NMAA has no mandate when it comes to Air Quality, but if the Air Quality Index is above 150, schools may want to consider suspending or postponing practices or games.
STATE TRACK & FIELD ENTRY DEADLINE
Track and Field coaches are personally responsible for entering all athletes that have qualified for the state track and field championships into the MileSplit website. Deadline for classes 1A thru 3A are due no later than Sunday, May 3rd at 11:59 p.m., and the deadline for classes 4A & 5A are due no later than Sunday, May 10th at 11:59 p.m. Failure to do so will jeopardize your athlete’s entrance into the State Championships and changes to entries and/or late entries will result in a $500 fine to the school.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY INVITE – DATE CHANGE
The date of the 2026 NMAA Middle School Cross Country Invite has changed to Thursday, October 15th. The meet will still be held at Rio Rancho High School. More information to come later in the Fall.
MAXPREP SCORES
Reminder to input your final score into MaxPreps as soon as possible, following your contest. Having an accurate schedule on MaxPreps with the final score is vital to the seeding & selection process for State Championships.
