Athletic Directors, the Health and Safety Self-Audit is due October 15. In order to host state events, schools must submit this form with verification that they have emergency action plans in place for all of their athletic facilities and also have an accessible AED. The form can be found at the link below. For questions regarding the Health & Safety Self-Audit please email Scott Owen at s.owen@nmact.org.

TEAM PHOTO POSTING DEADLINES
Per NMAA bylaw 3.9.3, team photos must be posted to MaxPreps team pages for Cross Country, Football, Soccer and Volleyball. These photos should be posted at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the State Championships. Failure to do so will subject the school to a $250.00 fine per program.

NMAA Foundation School Grant/Support Applications – 1st Cycle Open
The NMAA Foundation was established in 2007 to serve the schools and students of New Mexico in various ways. Most notably, this has been done through the many scholarships that the Foundation offers each year to students across the state. Another part of the NMAA Foundation’s mission is to assist schools through the awarding of financial grants/support. In the past, these funds have been used to help with costs of starting a new sport or activity, purchasing essential equipment, and helping schools in emergency situations.

Please note that although this program is still available for our schools, the application process was updated several years ago. There are now three categories for which a school can apply for funding. These are Program Start-Up, General Operating Support, and Emergency Use. Schools applying through the Emergency Use category can submit applications at any time. There are two deadlines during the school year for funding requests made via the Program Start-up and General Operating Support categories, however. The first cycle for application submissions is currently open and will close on September 30, 2024. After the deadline, the NMAA Foundation Board of Directors will review all applications and consider awards from there.

If you are interested in making a funding request, the school grant/support application can be accessed from the following link: https://www.nmact.org/file/NMAA_Foundation_Support_Grant_Application.pdf

The NMAA Foundation has allocated $21,000 for this program in 2024-2025, and awards typically range from $250-$2,000. For more information contact Dusty Young at dusty@nmact.org.

MAXPREP SCORES
Reminder to input your final score into MaxPreps as soon as possible, following your contest. Having an accurate schedule on MaxPreps with the final score is vital to the seeding & selection process for State Championships.

AUDITING SCHEDULES & DRAGONFLY REMINDERS
The start of the regular season is upon us! Just a reminder to please audit your schedules each week to ensure you have officials scheduled for all contests with accurate game dates and times!

The travel ring policy is now in effect. Remember that you no longer need to determine driver, rider and meal fees. Everyone on the crew receives a travel fee, calculated one-way from each official’s home address to your contest site. That means if the individual official lives 30 miles one-way from your site, they are paid the fee from the 26-50 mile tier ($30), not 60 miles for the round trip! DragonFly will auto-calculate the correct rate for each official for you by selecting the “NMAA Travel” rule on the “Manage Payments” tab after your event. See this video ‘how-to’ link: https://youtu.be/gB_a5KluqHA

Here is the officials fees and travel ring document for 2024-25: https://www.nmact.org/file/Officials_Fees.pdf

For those that are hosting tournaments, if you have not already entered your event in DragonFly, here is a video ‘how-to’ link for building tournaments (remember volleyball pool play matches must be entered as scrimmages to avoid populating in MaxPreps rankings): https://youtu.be/eQNrjlGadfU
