DION’S STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: SOPHIA GALLEGOS, ST. PIUS X

Each month, we will spotlight a student from New Mexico who is involved in various athletics and/or activities.  Here’s a look at this month’s Dion’s Student Spotlight.

Growing up, she has competed in softball, basketball, cheer, and dance, but now she is focused on the sport of wrestling. “I’ve been the healthiest I’ve ever been because of wrestling now that I’m more disciplined with what I eat,” she said.  This junior is also involved in singing with her school.  You can sometimes find, or rather hear, her perform the National Anthem before football and basketball games. “The Star-Spangled Banner is a way to say ‘Thank You’ to those who served and singing it is my way of giving back,” she said.
