NMAA Board Summary 10-12-07

The Board of Directors met in emergency session via teleconference to discuss proposals and recommendations for Class 4A District Alignment for the 2008-2009/ 2009-2010 school years.

A motion was made to split district 5-4A into two districts. The new district would be as follows:
District 5-4A District 6-4A
Albuquerque Academy Grants
Del Norte St. Pius
Moriarty Volcano Vista
Valencia Belen
New SW APS School (2009-2010)

Mario Martinez, NMAA Associate Director, stated that the change would result in no "at large" teams being afforded an opportunity to qualify for State Championships in the sports of volleyball, football and soccer.

The motion passed unanimously (8 votes for/ 0 votes against).
