2010 NMAA FALL CONFERENCE:

The New Mexico Activities Association and New Mexico Athletic Directors Association annual Fall Conference will be held October 10-12, 2010 at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid Hotel. The NMAA encourages all member schools to send a representative to the conference. The NMAA Board of Directors has established a $250 fine for schools who fail to attend the NMAA Annual Meeting on Tuesday of the Fall Conference.  Registration Forms must be received by the NMAA no later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010.  For more information please visit the following link: http://www.nmact.org/Fall_Conference/

 

FALL SPORT SCHEDULES/ROSTERS: MUST BE POSTED IN MVP BY SEPTEMBER 30TH.

A reminder to all Athletic Director’s:  Make sure all fall sport coaches are posting their complete rosters and schedules  in MVP. THIS INCLUDES ALL LEVELS (varsity, junior varsity and freshman team).  The deadline for all fall sport rosters and schedules to be posted online is September 30, 2010 before sanctions may be imposed.  If you are experiencing problems posting schedules or rosters in MVP, contact Bill Cleland at bcleland@nmact.org.  Please also ensure that your coaches are posting scores in MVP immediately following the completion of all games / matches and that all contests on your schedules are properly identified as District or not.

 

COACHING INFORMATION NEEDED: Athletic Directors, due to complications with the MVP messaging system, please email the names and contact information of all head coaches (phone numbers and email address’) for all fall sports to the appropriate NMAA Event Director:

FOUNDATION GOLF CLASSIC:

Join the NMAA Foundation for an afternoon of golf in an effort to help support scholarships for students throughout New Mexico.  This event will be held Tuesday, October 12th at the Desert Greens Golf Course.  For more information please click here or contact Mindy Ioane at mioane@nmact.org.

 

NMAA VIP PASSES:

Athletic Directors please remind your gatekeepers that they are to honor all NMAA “VIP” passes for all of their athletic contests.  The passes with be gray in color with big red “VIP” letters on the pass.  Pass holders must present a picture ID along with the pass.

NMAA SPIRIT OFFICIALS:

Plans to host additional Spirit Officials Clinics have temporarily been put on hold.  If you or someone you know may be interested in becoming a Spirit Official, please contact Kristin Derr, NMAA Assistant Director for further information.  Thank you.

 

NMAA ATHLETIC EQUITIES ACT WORKSHOPS:

NMMA and Cooperative Educational Services (CES) will conduct informational forums for NM Superintendents on the topic of the School Athletics Equity Act. The NMAA staff will conduct workshops for Athletic Directors on the following dates:

·         September 30- Clovis

·         October 1- NM Junior College

·         October 5- Deming

·         October 6- Albuquerque

·         October 14- Alamogordo
