BACK TO SCHOOL MAILOUT ON-LINE

NMAA RELEASES 2009-2010 EVENT CALENDAR:
The NMAA would like to release its calendar for the 2009-2010 school year. All superintendents, prinicipals, athletic directors and activity directors were mailed a copy of the NMAA calendar at the begining of May. LIFE OF AN ATHLETE PROGRAM:
With the assistance of the "American Athletic Institute," a New York based sport consulting firm, the New Mexico Activities Association will implement an alcohol education program to combat underage drinking amongst students in New Mexico in the Fall of 2009. This program will be geared toward student-athletes and will focus on the negative effects alcohol consumption has on athletes’ lives and their athletic performance.

The NMAA and the American Athletic Institute will conduct one-day training seminars during the first week of August 2009.

Each attendee will receive valuable materials and a CD Rom with a wealth of information to help develop an effective and beneficial alcohol education program at your school. Registration is FREE!

ALIGNMENT AND CLASSIFICATION:
The Board of Directors approved the Alignment and Classification for the next four year block (2010-2011 to 2013-2014), click here to download.

2009-2010 membership dues, fees and contracts are due by September 15, 2009

 

FALL CONFERENCE:
The NMAA/ NMADA Fall Conference will beheld October 11-13 at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid Hotel. The deadline to make reserverations for this important is September 11, 2009- Click here to make reservations.

 

NMAA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP DATE REVISIONS:
On June 3, the Board of Directors approved a major calendar adjustment for the 2010 State Track & Field
Championships due to the University of New Mexico hosting the 2010 Mountain West Track & Field Championships. Track & Field practice will begin on Week 32 instead of week 33 for the 2010 season. All District Track & Field Championships will be held Week 44 (April 26-May 1). The Class A-AA State Track & Field Championships will be held Wednesday and Thursday May 5-6, with the Class 3A-5A State Track & Field Championships scheduled on Friday and
Saturday May 7-8.
