ADMINISTRATORS:
» Alignment and Classification Meeting:
The new alignment and classification committee will meet in open session on Tuesday, September 11 (4:30-8:00 PM) and Wednesday, September 12 (8:00 AM-2:00 PM) at the NMAA. Click here for an agenda.

» Seeding and Selection Representatives:
Seeding and Selection representative forms were due to the NMAA on September 1. Please click here to download a seeding and selection form for the Fall Sports Championship seasons.

» Directors Cup:
As we begin the new school year, please be advised of the following adjustments that will be made to the Director’s Cup scoring criteria. We will be adding a sportsmanship component which will include the following guidelines:

The school year will be divided into three seasons; Fall, Winter and Spring. Each season will include the sports and activities that take place during that time frame.

A school that receives “zero” violations during a sports season will be awarded 100 points, the same amount awarded for a state championship. Thus, a school with “zero” violations throughout the school year can earn a maximum of 300 points toward their Director’s Cup total. If a school has two “clean” seasons they would be awarded 200 points, and one “zero violation” season, 100. Obviously if a school has violations in each of the three seasons, they would earn no points.

Violations are those reported to the NMAA and they include: player ejection, coach ejection, negative fan behavior, multiple yellow cards (soccer) resulting in ejection, and inappropriate behavior of a coach, player or administrator. Also included are NMAA bylaw infractions resulting in probationary sanctions levied on the school.

Bowling
High School bowling in thriving at the NMAA! We presently have 25 schools and approximately 50 teams at both the novice and varsity levels, who are competing consistently. We are also excited about the inquiries that we have had from several of you about getting involved. With the 07-08 season just around the corner (practice can begin 10/8, with the first allowable competition on 10/16) we would like to solidify your involvement and get coach’s contact information from you so that we can include your school in all of our mail-outs and e-mail listing. We had a fabulous season last year and are looking for more of the same in 07-08!
