Coaches Information
1.
Rosters must be trimmed to 12 players prior to post season play.
2.  Teams may only have 20 members "associated" with the team during the state tournament.  This number includes coaches, managers, trainers, statisticians, bus drivers, etc...  Only 20 members will be allowed around the bench area or scorer's table.
3.  Complimentary passes will be sent to the Superintendent for distribution by the 2nd week of February.  The Superintendent should have submitted a form that requests passes for the state tournament.  If you want to purchase additional passes for assistant coaches not on the list, send a letter from the principal indicating who the pass is for and acknowledging him/her as a coach.  Passes are $50 each.
4.  The seeding and selection meeting for 3A-5A will take place on March 2nd, while class A and AA will take place on March 9th.  Girls will be held at 10:00 AM while the boys will follow the girls at approximately 11:00 AM.  A list of the committee can be found online on the basketball page.
5.  The 1st round of state games will be on March 7th for girls and March 8th for boys.

Invitational Basketball Tournaments – The NMAA Office has received a number of calls regarding officials for invitational basketball tournaments during the regular season.  Please keep in mind that officials for invitational basketball tournaments being hosted by NMAA member schools MUST be registered with the NMAA office either as full members of the New Mexico Officials Association or as reciprocal members, if they are from out-of-state.  The use of non-registered officials is a violation of NMAA regulations.  If you would like to verify whether or not an official is registered with the NMAA, please contact Jeremy Hernandez at 505-923-3286 or via email at jhernandez@nmact.org.  If you have questions or need additional information about this matter, please contact Gary Tripp (gtripp@nmact.org) or Dana Sanchez (dsanchez@nmact.org) at the NMAA office.
