Track & Field Rules Unit I
Dear Athletic Directors, Coaches, and Officials,
We are excited to continue to host the NMAA State Track and Field Championships at the University of New Mexico Track & Field Complex. This complex is one of the best in the Southwest!
We appreciate the time that you have taken today to review and learn about changes in the sport of Track & Field for the 2008 season. The NMAA adopted this way to bring District Clinics to you. We feel that it has improved the level of communication with our member schools as well as reduce travel time and costs associated with past District Clinics. It is important to note: it is the coach's responsibility to ensure that he/she understands all rules and regulations. We also urge you to stay in tune with our website and the “Monday Morning News” as the most up to date information is always posted.
The following on-line District Rules Clinic will review important areas regarding the sport of Track & Field. All pertinent information that you will need to know for this season will be listed in one of the following units. You will need to review each of these units prior to February 28th to receive credit.
Throughout this school year the NMAA will be maintaining it’s primary goals of First Class State Championships, Immediate Feedback to to our Member Schools, and our sportsmanship program of “Pursuing Victory With Honor.” We appreciate what you do for the student-athletes throughout New Mexico and look forward to seeing you hold the “Blue Trophy” at the State Championships on May 9th – 10th or May 16th – 17th.
Sincerely,
Mario Martinez
