For Athlete’s and Parent’s- Parent’s and athlete’s are required to read and sign the NMAA Fact Sheet/Informed Consent Form annually before sport participation begins.

For Athletic Directors and Coaches- Schools need to educate athlete’s and parent’s on signs and symptoms of a brain injury, the risks of playing with a brain injury and of returning too soon. Schools need to obtain a parent and athlete signature on brain injury information and risk form. Schools need to educate coaches on the signs and symptoms of brain injury and about proper and safe return to participation and verify this educational program. The school district needs to develop a brain injury management protocol. Below are resources to help with the above duties.
