Dear Coaches,
The 2010 spring sports season is finally here and we are all excited for another successful year of high school baseball across New Mexico. Practice officially starts Monday, February 1st with the ultimate goal of every team being an opportunity to play for the Blue Trophy at Isotopes Park in mid May.
The NMAA will again hold all championship games for each of the five classes at beautiful Isotopes Park. This will again take place during Week #46 of the NMAA Calendar.
As you prepare for the season, however, remember that coaching is not only about skills and winning. The ultimate goal of interscholastic activities is to teach these young student-athletes about life itself. Coaches are true role models for these kids, and remember no matter what the situation, it is the duty of the coach to promote good sportsmanship and foster good character.
This online rules clinic will detail all of the important information that you will need to know for this season. Some major changes have been made regarding postseason play for Class A/2A and Classes 3A-5A. Please review the following units for more detailed information about these changes as well as all other important information pertaining to the 2010 season. You will need to review each of these units prior to February 28 to receive credit. Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this rules clinic or any other Baseball related issues.
Best of luck to you this season!
Sincerely,
Dusty Young
NMAA Assistant Director
