ACTIVITIES: Skills USA

Skills USA is a national nonprofit organization serving students enrolled career and technical education training programs in public high schools and colleges. Skills USA’s mission is to help its members become world-class workers and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA complements technical skill training with instruction in the employability skills that make a well-rounded worker and citizen.

The U.S. Department of Education along with State Departments of Education endorses Skills USAas an integral part of the technical curriculum. One of the many reasons why they support Skills USA is that Skills USA provides experiences in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. High ethical standards, superior work skills, lifelong education, pride, community service, and promoting the free enterprise way of business are just a few of positive experiences the students gain by being involved in Skills USA. Nationally, Skills USA enjoys support from more than 1,000 corporations, businesses and associations. Skills USA is showing everyone how vital career and technical education is to America’s future.
