Rodeo
Congratulations to Aztec High School, 2008 New Mexico State Rodeo Champions!
Carlsbad and Tatum High Schools were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The NMAA has joined forces with the NMHSRA (New Mexico High School Rodeo Association) to include the sport of rodeo as a sanctioned activity within the New Mexico schools.
The goal is to provide participants with the same opportunities that are afforded other students who participate in the various NMAA sanctioned activities. Since the NMHSRA already sponsors a State Championship Competition and has a developed constitution, minor adjustments will be made to each to ensure NMAA inclusion.
The ultimate goal is to increase participation and to honor a school team as the New Mexico state rodeo champions!
